Warranty

Batteries
A battery can be sent in for replacement under warranty (even if you have installed the battery by yourself
) if, within 6 months after purchase, the charging capacity is reduced to less than 50% of the original capacity, (date of purchase equals puchasing date on invoice).

We test all our batteries for proper operation before sending them to you. You can however easily damage the battery or its wiring
(iPod was never designed to be serviced by unauthorised personnel).

A lot of returned batteries are bent or have broken wiring, so be careful, and...

Be Smart!

When you want absolute guarantee of proper operation of your iPod after a battery replacement, just send in your iPod for our battery replacement service.

Harddrives (new)
Harddrives carry a 1 year warranty period. Excluded from warranty is 'user abuse'.

Harddrives (used)
iPodrepair sells used harddrives. These drives are extensively checked before put on sale.

We use the procedure below:

  • full UNIX format (incl. random zeroing)
  • fill with music (up to 60GB)
  • one hour random music play
  • disk 'restore' with recent iPod-software-updater
  • fill with music (25 songs)
  • (disk 'restore' with recent iPod-software-updater)

These harddrives carry a 3 month warranty period in the case where iPodrepair has performed the replacement service. Excluded from warranty is 'user abuse'.*

We do not warrant drives which the enduser replaces himself! No iPod was designed for selfservice.

Destructive research

Some investigations requires 'damaging' your iPod or iPhone. This is called 'destructive research'. This is especially true for iPod shuffle 1G; iPod nano 3G; iPod nano 4G; iPod touch 2G and iPhone 1G. When repair is requested; the damaged parts will also be replaced (not necessarily free of charge!). If you want the iPod/iPhone to be returned unrepaired, iPodrepair will decide what damaged parts will be sent with the iPod/iPhone.

Shipping
iPodrepair can not be held responsible for products which get lost or damaged during transport. If you want to be absolutely sure about your product during transport: have it sent insured.

Returns
When ordered products are returned, iPodrepair will charge you a 'restocking fee' of
Euro 5,00. Shipping and handling costs will also be substracted from the original amount payed.

*
The term 'user abuse' refers to any unauthorised, accidental or abusive action from the user that may have caused the unit to stop functioning properly. The status 'user abuse' will be a one-sided assessment of the seller or producer. You may send in your iPod or harddrive for such an assessment.
